In the throes of his berserk bloodlust Marc is only dimly aware of the holy fireball coming to destroy him. Then, somehow, time freezes and the Hunter returns to himself. He has been rescued by Koot Hoomi, one of the Masters of the World. The Mahatma informs him and Raven that they have a duty to fight work together to defeat Stormwalker and reunite the Eidolons before the two alternate realms collide and destroy reality. Koot Hoomi tells them that an Indian medicine man living outside the city will help them. The shaman reveals himself to be a magick Earth version of Bobby Lightning Wolf, and takes them on a spiritual journey where they adopt the forms of various animals, and use their enhanced senses to locate Stormwalker’s base. When Marc and Raven finally return to their tavern, they run into yet another double. In Stormwalker’s hideout, the evil mage starts teaching Ric the language of Magick.
