This issue begins with the Joint Chiefs making plans in the Tank, their meeting room inside the Pentagon. Colonel Cassidy’s superior, General Hartmann, reveals the existence of Psi Force, much to the horror of all the other officers present. Back in New York, Marc agrees to join Psi Force and Cassidy hands him an entry form. As he promised the Colonel, he reveals his early life in the US, when he first started working for the Mafia. With the help of Mafia boss Frank Costello, Marc managed to gain entry into the FBI as agent Miles Johnson. His unique talents enabled him to quickly become one of J. Edgar Hoover’s favourites. He knew how the assassination of Marilyn Monroe was orchestrated, and he pulled the trigger on JFK and Martin Luther King. Although the Hunter was privy to many government secrets, the Colonel could only take his explanations at face value. All documents were destroyed by Hoover’s secretary after the FBI director’s death. Cassidy then explains to Marc about the CIA agent who is looking for him, and why. Apparently, the genetic virus the Hunter was infected with was developed by a Nazi doctor during WWII. Marc was one of two SS volunteers.
