Jaeger #32 - Rise of the Blood God - Part 1

A clean-up crew employed to empty out a deserted house on the Upper West Side make a fatal discovery in the form of the Vampire Lord Azharoth’s lost amulet, still lying on the floor of his underground temple. Meanwhile, Marc is called into a meeting with General Hartmann of PsiForce. Hartmann reveals that he has a special job for the Hunter, working with aliens, but only if he gives up his relationship with Colonel Cassidy. Marc says he’ll think about it. He goes out for a night on the town, but is ambushed in a side-street by a blast from the past. Her name is Ludmilla, and she was once married to the geneticist Dr Daniel Karlberg whom Marc killed (see Issue #1). Needless to say she isn’t happy with Marc. However, before she can destroy him with her fiery arrows, Cassidy comes to his rescue and imprisons Ludmilla in a psychokinetic bubble before she can escape. She makes two shocking revelations – that Azharoth is still alive, and that his favourite Salome was Cassidy’s mother. All three return to Azharoth’s house and discover a giant swirling portal in his basement.
