Jaeger #33 - Rise of the Blood God - Part 2

Before diving into the portal and heading off to places unknown, Marc decides they need help. He wants to bring back the rest of the Psionic Investigations Unit who helped him to defeat Azharoth and Akhkharu last time (see Jaeger #14-16). However he can only find Sandy, who is with the psychokinetic Sophie from PsiForce. After collecting Raven’s demon-slaying sword from his place (see Jaeger #23), Marc heads back to Azharoth’s. Ludmilla decides they have wasted enough time and dives into the portal. The others quickly follow, and the portal finally closes behind them, leaving them trapped in the Dreaming. Ludmilla can sense Azharoth, but quickly becomes flummoxed by the Dreaming’s space-folding twists and turns. Then, just when they think they can’t travel any further, a bizarre shape-shifting being calling himself Lothar SoulEater appears and reveals that he will escort them because he also wants to see Azharoth and Akhkharu defeated. He leads Marc, Cassidy, Ludmilla, Sandy and Sophie to a nightmarish realm called the Outer Astral Plane, where they are immediately attacked by revenous hordes of undead. As they are being overwhelmed, Marc demands that Lothar help them fight. Reluctantly Lothar agrees – and transforms into a giant batlike creature that promptly decimates the monsters.
