Mission #18 – Pooley’s Revenge

In Deepwater Park Janex urges Mission to keep his new split personality secret. Unfortunately Pooley overhears his warning and decides to break up Mission and Shelly by convincing him that he and Pyros are actually lovers. Mission, as Naomi, has no reason to doubt him and helps Pyros back to his room at Marheg’s Place. Meanwhile, Pooley and his bigoted friends have another secret meeting where they decide to don robes and go on a mutie hunt. It is only after Mission hits his E-switch that he reverts to his former personality. He wonders what he is doing naked in Pyros’ room when the last thing he remembers is fighting a giant wombat in Deepwater park. He decides to go and see Janex, but on the way he comes across robed attackers bashing the mutant boy Brain. Mission thinks they are derros and charges in to rescue Brain. Only three escape from his murderous fury, and he recognises one – Pooley. Brain dies in Mission’s arms from his wounds. Then Marheg arrives on the scene and condemns Mission to death for taking the law into his own hands. Meanwhile, Shansaric manages to take over Lazarus 1 and turn him into a bodyguard.
